Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library Offers G.E.D. Assistance

The Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library’s Adult Literacy Program offers a variety of resources to help people who are preparing to take the GED exam. Resources include: an online assessment to identify areas in need of further study, print resources to take home and work on, and official GED practice tests. All these resources are FREE of charge and are available in Literacy Services located on the first floor of the Cesar Chavez Central Library.

In addition to GED preparation assistance, the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library offers an Adult Literacy program FREE for adults who want to learn how to read. Adult learners are matched with a volunteer tutor, and the pairs meet weekly at the library branch of their choosing. Adult learners must be 18 years of age or older.  The Adult Literacy program is made possible through a California Library Literacy Services (CLLS) grant.

Literacy Services is a part of the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library and is on the first floor of the Cesar Chavez Central Library, located at 605 N. El Dorado Street in Stockton.  For more information, call (209) 937-7778 or (866) 805-7323.
