It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing away of Mike Donaghy, Emergency Food Bank of Stockton/ San Joaquin Executive Director. The entire Board of Directors and staff send our heartfelt thoughts to his wife Debbie and son Justin, and the extended Donaghy family.
Brian Heck, Board President said “Mike was extremely instrumental in helping set the course for continued success of the food bank in serving those in need of our community. He did it with class and professionalism that has been long admired in whatever he did. We will sorely miss him and his wonderful spirit.”
Mike helped improve and grow many of the food bank programs including the recent Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday food box distribution, the Thanksgiving Run Against Hunger, Mobile Farmers Market, the student backpack giveaway, just to name a few. He worked tirelessly with donors to update equipment and operations efficiencies. He helped guide creative solutions that engaged the community in rewarding ways.
The Board and staff will continue the wonderful work that was near and dear to Mike.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Emergency Food Bank, 7 W. Scotts Avenue, Stockton, CA 95203 or online. Thank you.
