San Joaquin Supervisor, Kathy Miller, Announces Candidacy for State Assembly

San Joaquin County Supervisor Kathy Miller today announced her candidacy for State Assembly District 13, the seat currently held by Susan Eggman who is seeking election to the State Senate.

“In today’s world of divisive politics, we need leaders who know how to build bridges and accomplish real results for our communities, our families and our children,” said Miller.

“During my career in public service, I’ve had the opportunity to dig in and work on a variety of issues from addressing homelessness and improving our neighborhoods to balancing tough budgets, being a leader in protecting the Delta, increasing access to healthcare and expanding economic opportunity, especially in communities that need help the most.  I want to take what I have learned and be a strong advocate for these issues in Sacramento.”

Kathy Miller currently serves on the San Joaquin Board of Supervisors and owned a small business for 10 years.  She previously served on the Stockton City Council and was the Executive Director of Stockton Downtown Alliance.

“For me, public service is about finding common sense solutions to complex problems and making government work for the people it is supposed to serve.” Miller continued.  “I’ve seen firsthand the difference it can make when a child has somewhere safe to go after school, when someone gets the training they need to get a good job, when families have access to safe and affordable housing and when people have access to quality healthcare.  I will fight everyday to ensure we get our share of state resources to make our communities prosperous, our families strong and our children successful.”
