Jesús Andrade Named CEO of San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Andrade to assume leadership June 8th
The San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SJCHCC) announced its Board of Directors has unanimously selected Jesús Andrade as the Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization. Andrade will assume the leadership role June 8th.
“After a thorough search that yielded a pool of highly qualified candidates, the board is pleased to have found the best person to lead the organization through its next phase of program expansion and membership growth,” said Bob Gutierrez, SJCHCC Board President and lead principal of BG Strategies. “Jesús has strong local roots and a proven track record in government affairs and advocacy. His deep commitment and passion to expanding economic opportunities and entrepreneurship in the region offers a clear vision to the organization’s next era of growth.”
“I am honored to lead an organization with so many respected business members and community leaders,” said Jesús Andrade. “This organization has been a pillar of strength in the Central Valley for over 45 years and continues to be a dominating voice for small business locally and in Sacramento.”
Andrade, 35, holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and minor in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento. He is a current Stockton City Councilmember and co-founder of the Stockton Schools Initiative, a policy organization focused on improving academic outcomes for all public school students. He serves on several commissions and boards, including the San Joaquin Council of Governments, San Joaquin Area Flood Control Agency, San Joaquin County Local Agency Formation Commission, and CSU Stockton Site Authority Commission.
Established in 1972 as the Stockton Mexican American Chamber of Commerce, the SJCHCC is a voluntary membership network of over 300 individuals, businesses, and professional associations working together to expand business opportunities for Hispanic businesses and individuals by encouraging mutually beneficial ties with the public and private sector. The mission of the San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is to advocate on behalf of members and to encourage economic and business development throughout the region. The Chamber assists members opening businesses, accessing capital, and links members to members through events held throughout the year.
