3rd Annual Fully Booked
Tuleburg Press hosts its 3rd annual fund raiser on September 28, from 6-10 pm, at St. Basil Church, 920 W. March Lane, Stockton. This event -- Fully Booked -- benefits The Write Place, a creative writing and books arts center in downtown Stockton. Tickets are $85 per person, $160 a couple, and available at tuleburgpress.com/fullybooked.
Please join us for a delightful evening of entertainment and recognition of two outstanding arts advocates, Anna Malaika NtiAsare-Tubbs and Joy Dibble Neas. These community leaders are being honored at Fully Booked for encouraging "voice" through creative expression that is helping shape Stockton's future.
Fully booked is a dinner and silent auction with a book arts flair. It is catered by Angelinas and hosted wine and beer will be provided by Blake and Carla Bomben and Highwater Brewing Company. Entertainment will be provided by classical guitarist Travis Silvers, "tribal dancer" Asia Killeen, and by Stockton's youth poets, With Our Words.
Our famous book tower will be on display, as well as many first edition signed books that will be given away for FREE on a first come, first serve basis. Folded book art by Sarah Deane Neely and leather traveler’s journals by Jonel Imutan will be on sale.
In addition to an outstanding silent auction with art, wine, books, jewelry, restaurant certificates and Palm Springs and Santa Cruz getaways, there will be eight one-of-a-kind wooden chairs painted and decorated by local Stockton artists.
This event will also be the soft launch of our latest book Lost and Found A Collection of Haiku on Love Loss and Life by Barron Sudderth.
In 2018 Tuleburg Press and The Write Place were very busy, hosting a youth book arts camp, Seattle Poet Leanne Grabel, Pulitzer Prize winner Derek Moore, and California Poet Laureate Dana Gioia. We hosted school field trips, and Zine workshops for youth and adults, with grants from the Stockton Arts Commission and the California Arts Council.
The center opened in March 2017 and has become a hub of creative activity. Classes for children and adults take place after school, evenings and weekends in paper making, book binding, zine creation, journal making, poetry and spoken word performance.
