1000 South Stockton Homes in One Day

On July 26th Community Assessment Kick-Off where they will knock on 1000 Doors in ONE DAY in South Stockton.

On July 26th, 2014, the Reinvent South Stockton Coalition invites you to become a part of a pioneering opportunity to empower and reconnect with some of Stockton's most vibrant and underserved communities.

Convened by Councilmember Michael Tubbs earlier this year, the Reinvent South Stockton Coalition consists of government, non-profit, faith-based community leaders, and the community members themselves working to transform struggling South Stockton neighborhoods into safe, healthy communities. In an effort to better understand and serve the needs of Stockton citizens living in this area, the Reinvent South Stockton Coalition will sponsor a month-long community needs assessment, walking door to door to connect with and empower the nearly 5,000 households in and around South Stockton. This assessment will provide for Stocktonians the necessary platform to restore safety, education, housing, job creation, and health in their neighborhoods.

With an anticipated volunteer force of over 250 dedicated re-inventors, we will set out to canvass these targeted areas, surveying residents with the intention of hearing what they think makes South Stockton vibrant and their concerns, and building relationships. The agenda for the Kickoff is as follows:

9:00 am – 250 volunteers check-in & are grouped into one of four neighborhoods
10:00 am – 250 Site leaders and volunteers set out to canvass door-to-door, reaching 5,000 total households
1:00 pm – Volunteers reconvene, are given a “thank you” bag, and are asked to commit to a couple more days of canvassing in our month-long strategy
