Councilmember Michael Tubbs and the Reinvent South Stockton Coalition will be hosting the 1st Annual Summit Reinvent South Stockton Resident Summit at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds on April 25, 2015 from 9:30 am to 3 pm. The purpose of the Resident Summit is to inform, excite, and engage residents about the work in South Stockton.
Residents will be able to connect with other residents and officials interested in working on specific issues to help improve Stockton. The Summit will empower residents to have a say in the strategies and get involved in the area they feel strongly about. The Summit will be the start of building trust, coordinating strategies and resources, and reciprocal accountability between residents, stakeholders, and officials.
The Resident Summit will include sessions and workshops on the following topics: Gateway to youth activities and recreation
• Housing and how it affects the community and its residents
• What does the workforce look like in the future?
• Safety is a key element of re-inventing South Stockton
• Education in South Stockton to enable South Stockton to come out of the poverty cycle
• What do we need to do to make Stockton a healthier place to live?
