Planning for the 26th Annual Earth Day Festival in San Joaquin County is well underway. This year’s festival will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Victory Park, behind the Haggin Museum in Stockton. The theme, “Living Water Wise” will be the focus of the event.
The Peace and Justice Network, City of Stockton, University of the Pacific, San Joaquin County Office of Education, Mayaco Marketing & Internet and the San Joaquin Bike Coalition, work together to organize the event and provide educational opportunities for protecting our planet to people of all ages. Attracting thousands of people each year, the festival continues to grow larger and more diverse each year.
Companies and organizations are encouraged to participate as a sponsor. Sponsor donations will be put to use directly supporting this non-profit community event. Your contribution will allow us to keep attendance free to the public, the registration cost affordable for our exhibitors/vendors, help underwrite the cost of putting on the event and provide great area entertainment for this local festival. Your company will be recognized before, during and after the Festival for your “Go Green” environmental concern.
All organizations, schools and individuals doing environmental activities or projects are encouraged to share with the local community at this year’s Festival as an exhibitor. The Festival wants dozens of informative, interactive booths, displays and exhibits. Local area schools are encouraged to teach others with hands-on activities on how to better take care of the earth, and environmental organizations are needed to educate the public about the important issues that impact all of us and how we can make a difference. Community agencies can help others learn how to live a healthier, more positive life, and green businesses can assist local residents with making changes in their homes and workplace. Whether you have educational information to share or a school project to demonstrate, we want you at the Earth Day Festival in April.
Event organizers are also always looking for volunteers. This event is not possible without the help of volunteers. With many different ways to help on the day of the event, volunteers can assist with morning set-up, help with the bike ride, staff our information booth, support exhibitors who need an extra hand, help with the children’s activities, staff recycling areas or help with afternoon clean-up. If you, a group of friends, a school class or organization would like to participate, please visit our website below to sign up.
