Community Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired will host the third annual Dining In The Dark—an absolutely SENSE-ATIONAL experience—on Saturday, October 19, 2019, beginning at 5:30 p.m. An event unique to San Joaquin County, guests have the opportunity to wear sleep shades—removal of vision gives greater awareness of other senses. This experience gives a glimpse into an unfamiliar world.
Church of the Presentation Guadalupe Hall, 1515 West Benjamin Holt Drive, Stockton, will serve as the venue. Cost is $60.00 per person and includes sweet and savory delicacies using fresh local ingredients, blind olive oil and wine tastings, silent auction and raffle prizes.
Proceeds benefit Community Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The nonprofit agency has served San Joaquin County since 1949 and provides the means by which people who are blind or have low vision improve and sustain their capabilities and potentials to re-establish purpose and self-esteem in their lives and in society while leading independent lives.
