It is with great pleasure that the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce announces the selection of Linda Chin Luna as its 2024 ATHENA Award recipient.  Past ATHENA’s, Members of the Stockton Chorale, Stockton Chamber staff and Board Members surprised Linda with the news on Monday, September 16, 2024 at the Stockton Chamber office.

The Gospel Center Rescue Mission (GCRM) is excited to begin construction on the New Life Program Multi-Purpose Center, and will celebrate at a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 2:00 on the GCRM campus, located at 445 S. San Joaquin Street, Stockton, California. The New Life Program Multi-Purpose Center will be a three-story, 130 bed, 12,400 square foot facility which will include sleeping rooms with one to four beds each, shower rooms, laundry facilities and a classroom area.

San Joaquin County Public Health Services has confirmed a West Nile Virus (WNV) infection in San Joaquin County. This is the first confirmed human case in the county for 2024, and the 28th reported human case in California for this year. The 57-year-old male Stockton resident has received medical services at a Sacramento area healthcare facility.

The Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation is proud to share that Patty and Wayne Judge have received the 2024 George and Barbara Bush Little League Parents of the Year. Patty and Wayne are the parents of ALL RISE Founder, New York Yankees Captain and Outfielder. The Award was presented by Little League International at the2024 MLB Little League Classic on August 18, 2024, in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

In a night filled with high drama and nail-biting action, Stockton’s own JoJo Stearns delivered a performance for the ages at the Night of Champions, securing a hard-fought victory that will be remembered for years to come. The youngest champion in the history of the Stockton 99 Speedway’s Late Model series had to overcome multiple setbacks, including a flat tire, to outduel some of the track’s most legendary drivers.

Jim and Angela Brusa will be honored with the 2024 Goodwill Helping Hands Award at a special Evening of Good Will event on Thursday, October 24 at the Stockton Golf and Country Club.

The legacy of Misty Holt-Singh lives on through her husband Paul’s commitment to helping victims of violent crime and their families. Ten years ago, Misty’s life was tragically taken, leaving Paul and their two children, Mia and Paul Jr., to carry on without her. As they painfully picked up the pieces of their lives, the Singh family was overwhelmed by support, love, and resources from the community.
