Announcements: Closure Updates for I-5 in Stockton

A couple of updates regarding the Interstate 5 (I-5) North Stockton Improvement Project:

River Road under I-5 re-opened on April 2, 2013.

Swain Road is scheduled to re-open in July. The delay is due to utility challenges requiring a redesign of the route’s drainage system. The closures are necessary for the safety of motorists during bridge construction. Clearances and construction activities do not allow enough vertical clearance under these structures for the installation of falsework unless the road is closed.

Caltrans would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused by closing these roads. We appreciate drivers’ patience as we improve I-5 through Stockton.
