One of my favorite things about the holidays is the amazing food. Every year when the Fall season approaches and the weather starts to get cooler, I look forward to the delicious holiday meals. For me, it’s Thanksgiving and Christmas; for you, it could be those and/or other holidays. Not only is there a lot of food, but there is also usually a lot of sweets, and not just on these holidays, but also from Halloween, and the occasional hot chocolate or homemade pie which tend to be consumed around the holidays.
During the winter months, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Merced Counties are plagued by extremely dense fog which poses a severe hazard to drivers. Typically the fog season begins during the month of November and continues through February. Despite this predictable seasonal occurrence, multi-vehicle accidents are commonplace due to the combination of fog, excessive speeds and traffic congestion.

From Stockton, the N. California coast, from Bodega Bay north to Mendocino, is both easy to reach (about three hours) and offers some of the most stunning waterfront in the United States! We have been there several times, on both day trips, camping trips, even a few motel overnights.
