University of the Pacific Partners with RADD® to Support Sober Driving

The University of the Pacific officially joined forces with RADD® ‒ “The Entertainment Industry’s Voice for Road Safety”, in support of its efforts to prevent drunk driving.  University of the Pacific is the first of three participating Sacramento Region campuses that are hosting major events with RADD to keep drivers and passengers safe on the road.

Thunder to Host First Black and White Game

The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League, have announced that the team will play an intra-squad game that is free and open to the public on Wednesday, October 9, 2013.  While this brand new event won’t replace the traditional fan fest to be held later this year, it will give fans an opportunity to get excited about hockey returning to Stockton in a few short weeks. Stockton Arena will open at 6:00 p.m. with the puck set to be dropped a half-hour later.

On September 3, the Micke Grove Zoo Education Department launched a series of new and exciting education-based programming for pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade classes. Five new zoo field trips and the highly acclaimed Zoo Mobile program have been added to the Education Department’s repertoire of premiere life science learning opportunities for students in San Joaquin County and the communities that surround it.

Micke Grove Zoo to Host information Meeting for Potential Event Volunteers

The Micke Grove Zoo Education Department is hosting a Special Event Volunteer information meeting for individuals 11 years of age and older on Thursday, September 26 from 6:00PM-7:00PM at the Memorial Building in Micke Grove Regional Park. Potential volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the information meeting.
