Bridgeport Assigns Keenan to Thunder

Rookie defenseman Mike Keenan returns to Stockton for his second stint in the ECHL after playing the first three games of the 2013-14 season with the Thunder.

he Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the Thunder’s AHL affiliate, have assigned rookie defenseman Mike Keenan to Stockton, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Kromm announced Tuesday. It’s Keenan’s second stint in the ECHL with the Thunder this season.
 
Keenan, 24, is in his first full professional season after graduating from Dartmouth College in 2013. Keenan has six points (three goals, three assists) in 41 games with the Sound Tigers this year. He registered one assist in five games played with Bridgeport at the end of the 2013 season.
 
The Weymouth, Massachusetts native scored a goal and added an assist in his debut with Stockton during the Thunder’s 5-0 win over Colorado on October 19. He was recalled to Bridgeport after just three games.
 
Keenan earned ECAC second-team all-star honors after his senior year at Dartmouth, when he posted a career-high 16 points in 34 games. He posted 37 points in 108 career college games while captaining the Big Green in his final two seasons. Prior to his time in college, Keenan spent two year with the USHL’s Sioux City Musketeers.
