April is National Poetry Month, and in honor of that, the Cesar Chavez Central Library will host a special Poetry Contest for youth running now through April 11, 2104. The rules are simple:
Write a poem (no more than 100 words) about why you love the Library;
Submit your poem to the Chavez Library’s Children’s Desk by Friday, April 11, 2014 (5 pm). Entry must include name, age, and phone number;
One winner will be chosen from each of the following age groups: 5-7, 8-10, 11-13, 14-18;
Winners will be notified the week of April 14, 2014;
Each winner will receive a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card, and winning essays will be published in the SSJCPL blog!
In addition to this creative writing contest, everyone is invited to check out the wonderful selection of poetry available for checking out at the Library – free with a library card!
