Children's Summer Reading Program at the Maya Angelou Branch Library

The Maya Angelou Branch Library presents this year’s Summer Reading Program, “Every Hero Has a Story” from June 1 – July 31. The Summer Reading Program is to encourage everyone to read during the summer months.  The library will host a variety of themed activities for children, teens, and adults that encourage and support a love of reading. Participants also can win prizes for reaching their reading goals.

Themed events include:

  • Thursday, June 4, 3:30 p.m. - Steve Chaney and Corny Crow Ventriloquism Program
  • Thursday, June 11, 3:30 p.m.  - Puppet Art Theater Presents "Super Tommy"
  • Thursday, June 18, 3:30 p.m.  - Wild Things, Inc. Animal Education Program
  • Thursday, June 25, 3:30 p.m.  - The Bubble Lady
  • Thursday, July 2, 3:30 p.m.  - Our Country's Heroes: An Independence Day Craft Celebration
  • Thursday, July 9, 3:30 p.m.  - Tony Borders Present "Peter Pan: Hero of Imagination"
  • Thursday, July 16, 3:30 p.m. - Magic Show with Brian Scott Productions
  • Thursday, July 23, 3:30 p.m.  - The Serpentarium: A Living Reptile Museum
  • Thursday, July 30, 3:30 p.m.  - Ice Cream Social
