The City of Stockton is currently accepting applications for the Climate Action Plan Advisory Committee, Community Development Committee, Cultural Heritage Board, and Measure W Oversight Committee. The Climate Action Plan Advisory Committee is a 10-member Committee that serves as an advisory body to the City Council and makes recommendations on Climate Action Plan activities within the City of Stockton. There are three (3) vacancies. The term of service is for two (2) years with no term limit, with members meeting once a month.
The Community Development Committee is a seven-member Committee that acts as an advisory body to the City Council, studies Housing Department data to determine recommended ongoing project funding levels; reviews Department of Housing and Urban Development applications; and meets with area residents to analyze activities, needs, and community support for newly designated areas. Seeking to fill three (3) vacancies, as current members’ terms expire September 30, 2015. The term of service is for four (4) years with a two-term limit.
The Cultural Heritage Board is a nine-member Committee that acts to promote and preserve the community's historical, architectural, aesthetic, and cultural resources; identify sites and districts with historical significance; and encourage and sponsor cultural events. Members should be knowledgeable about the historic and cultural traditions of the community and have a background in preservation, architecture and/or construction technology. Seeking to fill two (2) vacancies, as current members’ terms expire October 31, 2015. The term of service is for four (4) years with a two-term limit, with members meeting bi-monthly.
The Measure W Oversight Committee is a seven-member Committee that assures appropriate use of Measure W sales and use tax and presents an annual report to the City Council. Applicant must be at least 28 years old. Seeking to fill three (3) vacancies, as current members’ terms expire December 31, 2015. The term of service is for two (2) years with two-year term limit.
All applicants must be registered to vote and must live within the city limits of Stockton throughout the term of service. Qualified applicants will be notified of the interview date and process.
