Country and Commencements Bring 23,000 to Downtown Stockton
Over 23,000 guests attended events in Downtown Stockton over the June 1st weekend. The KAT Country Listener Appreciation Concert (LAC), Edison High School graduation, Franklin High School graduation, and the Teachers College of San Joaquin graduation all took place between June 1st and 2nd.
Since the KAT Country LAC moved into Downtown Stockton three years ago, SMG Stockton and their staff have been co-coordinating with KAT Country on the logistics of the event. Great weather has led to increasing crowds every year. The 2013 LAC was headlined by country superstar Gretchen Wilson.
Four Stockton Unified high schools host their graduations in the Stockton Arena, and two of them took place on Saturday, June 1st. Edison High School hosted their graduation in the morning, and Franklin High School hosted their graduation later in the afternoon.
Finally, on Sunday, June 2nd, the Teachers College of San Joaquin utilized the historic Bob Hope Theatre for their graduation ceremonies.
