Family Day in the Park is Seeking Mascots and Cheerleaders

Organizers for The Record’s Literacy and Book Fair - Family Day at the Park are currently recruiting MASCOTS & CHEERLEADERS to participate on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 9:30 to 2:30 pm at University Park in Stockton. The event kicks off at 9:30 with The Oh-So-Popular Mascot Parade led by the Cesar Chavez Drum Corps. Moms, dads, kids, clowns and anyone else who wants to jump in can march in this parade!  It's a little silly, and a lot of fun! If you have a mascot representing your school, business or restaurant we would love to have you participate at the event and in the parade. Family Day at the Park is FREE to the public. The Record’s signature event, Family Day at the Park provides a full-day of fun and educational activities for the entire community.

More than 80 businesses and community organizations are expected to provide interactive projects that include making bookmarks, greeting cards, a miniature city, art projects, storytelling and recreational activities. Mascots, local musical entertainment are also festival favorites. The popular Friends of the Library Used Book Sale will once again offer more than 5,000 titles starting at only 25 cents.

The event is underwritten by local sponsors. For further information on cheerleader and mascot participation, sponsorship and booth opportunities at The Record’s Literacy and Book Fair – Family Day at the Park, contact Anna Sass at SASS! Public Relations, Inc., 209-957-7277 or [email protected].
