Financial Planning Basics at the Margaret K. Troke Branch Library

On Thursday, July 31, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, August 2, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Margaret K. Troke Branch Library presents Financial Planning Basics.

Do you want to start saving for retirement or another financial goal, but you're not sure where to start? You’re never too old or too young to start planning your financial security. This workshop will provide you with general information to get you on track toward meeting your financial goals confidently; no specific products will be endorsed and no solicitations will be made.

Learn how to get a handle on the basics. We will discuss cash flow, liabilities and budgeting, the importance of a cash reserve, investments and investment strategies, taxes and protection planning. We'll take a look at Traditional IRAs, Roth IRAs, 401(k)s, and other types of retirement plans.

Presenter Barbara Moore is entering her 23rd year as a Financial Advisor with Ameriprise Financial in Stockton. She also co-teaches a class through SICL at Delta College, "Seniors and Financial Planning." A graduate of UOP, she resides in Stockton with her husband and young daughter.

Continue the learning by checking out books, reviewing online databases, and searching the Internet – all for free at your local public library!

This free program is provided through the generosity of the Friends of the Stockton Public Library.  The Margaret K.
