Hundreds of blankets donated to the less fortunate this Holiday Season

Your donations helped hundreds of children, families and other homeless on the streets.

On the Tuesday evening of December 22 Blanket the City with Love volunteers made their way through the city to drop off used and new blankets for the the homeless in Stockton. With the help of random blanket donors, volunteers, they were able to provide blankets to several hundred children, families and those that found themselves sleeping out on the streets. A humbling experience to meet people that were in need of some warmth this Holiday Season. Each had a word of thanks for the warm blankets they were handed. With many of the children, you would have thought that they were given the best gift ever—their very own blanket just for them.

An all-volunteer effort, none of this would be possible without people such as Paula, Alysha, Tony (Computer Link & Staff), Manny (Postal Center), Albert, Danielle, Jaclyn, Danny, and the many anonymous donors. A special thanks to the “Quilt Lady” for donating 25 hand-made quilts for the children. Alysha, 13 years old, also hand-made various blankets with her grandmother. Special people for a special cause. Your concern and thoughtfulness has truly made a difference. Find more photos on the Blanket the City with Love's website at www.blanketwithlove.org

Blanket The City With Love is an all-volunteer effort coordinated by Mayaco Marketing & Internet staff as one of many community service endeavors.  We are grateful for all that make this possible.  Thank you.
