July is National UV Safety
El Concilio is proud to inform the public that since this month of July is National UV Safety Month it will be featured as part of the “Family Wellness,” “Health Access”, and “Maternal Advocacy” programs. Since UV safety is essential in order to have fun in the sun without causing harm to ones skin, El Concilio has provided the necessary information via the program.
UV rays are rays that emit from the Sun once its light crosses into our atmosphere; these rays carry harmful radiation that without the proper protection can be very dangerous. El Concilio’s “Family Wellness Program,” educates the parents on the importance of physical activity and eating healthy foods as an effective wellness strategy for young children.
Through our other health care education and advocacy services, El Concilio's diverse staff is actively involved in the pursuit of quality health care for the community also through the following programs: Health Access and Its Collaborative Partners, and Maternal Advocacy Program. The Health Access and Its Collabortaive Partners Program provides transportation to families so that they may keep their important medical visits. The Maternal Advocacy Program educates and advocates for expectant mothers to break language barriers.
Please remember to be safe this summer and protect your families against the harmful UV rays and heat. To learn more about how you can contribute to this collaborative effort, please contact El Concilio-Council for the Spanish Speaking at (209) 644-2600.
