Lincoln Center anchor stores: MCcaulou's leases former Campbell's space and Podesto's market to begin major renovation.

Over the last year as the local and national economies have improved, Lincoln Center has been buzzing with activity and growth. Ten new businesses have opened, including restaurant, retail and service offerings, all of them locally owned and operated. Today, Lincoln Center has exciting announcements regarding two anchor stores:
McCaulou's Department Store will be the newest addition to Lincoln Center. They will occupy the former Campbell's location of 23,746 square feet and are expected to open in October of this year.

Podesto’s Market, longtime locally owned and operated grocery store occupying 30,000 square feet, will undergo a complete remodel.

McCaulou’s is a family-owned business that has been in operation for more than forty years. They have eighteen stores, with nine McCaulou’s stores in the Bay Area. Their flagship store is in Lafayette, with others in Walnut Creek, Danville, Oakland, Napa, Sonoma, Marin County, to name a few. They carry a wide variety of merchandise found in most department stores including men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, cosmetics, shoes, gifts and more.

McCaulou's expects to create 30-40 new jobs in our community. The signing of this department store brings the occupancy at Lincoln Center to 99% and the total number of businesses at Lincoln Center to ninety-four.

Podesto’s Market’s major remodel will feature many exciting updates, including an energy efficient lighting system, new signage, fixtures, refrigeration and merchandising displays throughout the store. Customers will enjoy specialty coffee drinks in a new inviting café area with indoor and outdoor seating, and a new outdoor barbeque area near the south entrance. New product offerings will include fresh-made meals and snacks to-go in the deli, meat and bakery departments, more organic produce, baked goods and specialty cheeses. The remodel is expected to be completed in the fall.

“We are excited to be a part of the economic growth in Stockton and San Joaquin County as we move forward with these projects,” says, Phil Johnson, President of Sims-Grupe Management Corporation, the General Partner for Lincoln Properties, LTD. “We believe in providing the very best for our community. Through the Podesto’s remodel, the store will remain current and relevant in the ever-competitive grocery business, and expand offerings for our customers. In regards to McCaulou’s, we are proud to create a new partnership with Dave McCaulou and his long standing family owned company that shares our values and commitment to local business.”

Complimenting these announcements is the completion of the Brickwalk renovation! A vibrant community gathering space, the area features permanent shade structures, inviting furniture, beautiful pots and plants, and free Wifi in the area between Jamba Juice and Nothing Bundt Cakes. “Many customers are enjoyed this new seating area,” said Johnson. “Our goal with these projects is to create a sense of place and community while providing a more personal and memorable retail experience for our customers. Our children’s play area, which was built in 2011, and the Brickwalk are inviting, comfortable spaces we want the community to enjoy.”
