This December, the Micke Grove Zoo Education Department is offering full day (10:00 AM-3:00 PM) Winter Zoo Camps for children ages 5 through 10. These adventure-packed, single and 2-day camp sessions offer campers a chance to experience traditional zoo camp activities with a longer day. This gives parents a chance to schedule in some time for their busy holiday plans.
An excellent holiday gift for kids [and their parents], the three separate sessions of camp occur December 21 st and 22nd (Animal Antics), December 23 (Winter Wildlife Warriors) and December 27th and 28th (Crazy Critters). Every session is unique so booking one, two or all three sessions will elicit a new adventure every time. “Your little monkey will experience Micke Grove Zoo like never before. They will meet animals, play games, create wild crafts, and enjoy other adventurous activities in the wondrous winter setting of Micke Grove Zoo and Park,” shared Natalie Sauerland, Education Specialist for the Micke Grove Zoological Society.
The cost for each 2-day session (Animal Antics and Crazy Critters) registration is $55 per child for nonmembers and $45 for members of the Micke Grove Zoological Society (MGZS). The special 1-day session (Winter Wildlife Warriors) is $27.50 for each child member and $22.50 for non-members. Fees include the camp experience plus a camper t-shirt, healthful snacks, and a drop-off/pick-up parking permit. Camp registrants will be expected bring their own sack lunch. Pre-registration is required for all camps and can be completed by calling the Education department at (209) 331-2138.
Too young for Winter Camp? The Micke Grove Zoo Education Department continues to offer “Zoo Tots” almost every Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. This adult-child partner program offers new topics, games, crafts, stories, activities and animal encounters every week for our guests ages 18 months to 5 years. The Micke Grove Zoo Education Department is managed by the Micke Grove Zoological Society, a nonprofit that supports the Micke Grove Zoo and is located inside Micke Grove Regional Park at 11793 N. Micke Grove Road in Lodi, CA. It is open every day of the year except Christmas from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM; admission gate closes at 4:30 PM. For the months of December and January only, tickets are $4 for guests 14+, $2 for children 3-13, and free for children 2 and under as well as for all members of the Micke Grove Zoological Society.
