For the first time in the zoo’s history, the Micke Grove Zoo Education Department is offering two-day winter zoo camp programs for children ages 4 through 12. These excitement-packed “mini-camps” offer campers a chance to experience traditional zoo camp activities while allowing parents to schedule in some adult time around their busy holiday commitments. Campers have adventures in the zoo, meet animals, play games, participate in crafts, and enjoy other great activities in the fascinating winter setting of Micke Grove Zoo and Park.
An excellent holiday gift for kids, the three separate sessions of camp run from 9AM-12PM on December 26 and 27 (Wild Winter), December 30 and 31 (Zoo Detectives), and January 2 and 3 (Winter Safari). Every session is unique so each camper can try them all. The cost is $55 per session for non-members and $45 per session for members of the Micke Grove Zoological Society. Fees include the camp experience plus a camper tee shirt, daily snack, and drop-off/pick-up parking permit. Pre-registration is required and can be completed at www.mgzoo.com under the Education Department’s camp programs tab. The last day to register for any of the camp sessions is Tuesday, December 24 at midnight.
The Micke Grove Zoo Education Department is managed by the Micke Grove Zoological Society, the non-profit that supports the Micke Grove Zoo. Registrations for these programs directly support educational activities and programming at the Zoo.
