Micke Grove Zoo to be "Benefitting partner of the night" at April's Sacramento River cats game

Micke Grove Zoo hit a home run as the Sacramento River Cat’s upcoming “Benefitting Partner of the Night” for the Friday, April 10 game against the Salt Lake Bees. Zoo staff will be showcasing its animal ambassadors and information throughout the evening game, but not until zoo representatives throw the first pitch and accept a donation from the newly reformed Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.

The donation will be comprised of proceeds from tickets purchased through a special group link available on the Zoo’s website,MGZOO.COM. Ticket purchasers are requested to use the Special Offer Code MICKE15 when buying tickets to support the Zoo’s non-profit organization, the Micke Grove Zoological Society (MGZS). The MGZS serves to help San Joaquin County enhance Micke Grove Zoo by providing opportunities for education and community involvement.

Although a River Cat is not a real species, the team’s mascot – “Dinger” – is a regular at Micke Grove Zoo events. Both associations have a long-standing partnership that has enthralled Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley residents for nearly half a decade. Likely to join Dinger at the ball park is the Micke Grove Zoo mascot, “Billy the Bear.” Billy is named after the Zoo’s founder, Mr. William “Billy” Micke.

Gates open for “Micke Grove Zoo Night” at Raley Field in Sacramento, California at 6:05PM. Game time is 7:05PM. Parking is free and the event includes a fireworks display.

The Micke Grove Zoo Education Department is managed by the Micke Grove Zoological Society, a non-profit organization serving to help San Joaquin County enhance Micke Grove Zoo.
