The City of Stockton Office of Violence Prevention (OVP) is calling on all service providers and community members to participate in the next Community Engagement Coalition meeting on Thursday, July 20, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., at the Civic Auditorium, 525 N. Center Street.
The theme of this meeting is “Violence Prevention.” Presentations will include: The OWL Movement; El Concilio, Transportation & Parent Education; NAACP Youth Council; Mary Magdalene, My Brother’s Keeper; and San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office Family Justice Center. In addition to presentations and guest speakers, all community partners are welcome to join in roundtable discussions and encouraged to share and collaborate on efforts and programs that address violence in our community.
“This upcoming meeting will be filled with guest speakers who will share information about the programs and services they provide to the community,” said LaTosha Walden, Office of Violence Prevention Manager. “Our partners in violence prevention have programs that you may not be aware of and some that are new or expanding. This is an excellent forum to stay informed and make sure we maximize resources.”
Consistent with the City’s Marshall Plan on Crime, the City’s Office of Violence Prevention acts as the convener to coordinate service providers and resources within the community through the Community Engagement Coalition.
