The Pacific men's and women's tennis teams are back in action with a loaded Saturday slate at Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center beginning at 10 a.m.
The No. 66 Pacific men will face George Washington and 10 a.m. and against Sacramento State in the afternoon (approximately 1:30 p.m.), while the Pacific women face George Washington at 2 p.m.
The Tigers two tennis programs will play simultaneous matches at the new 12-court Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center. The women will be playing the venue for the first time, while the men take the court for their second and third matches at the new facility.
The men's squad is ranked 66 in this weeks ITA/Oracle rankings and enters the weekend at 8-7 overall. Sem Verbeek checks in at No. 119 in the singles rankings. Verbeek is 10-2 this season in singles, having won nine of his last 10 matches.
The Tigers are coming off a 2-1 weekend at the Pacific Mountain Invitational, with wins over Hawai'i and Grand Canyon. Kumara Pardha Adavelly's three-set win in the final singles match clinched Pacific's win over Grand Canyon.
The Pacific women's squad are 5-6 on the season, coming off a split in Hawai'i in which the Tigers beat Grand Canyon, 4-3, but fell to Hawai'i, 4-1. The Tigers women also had a three-set comeback win to clinch their match against Grand Canyon, as Katie Dyson's three-set win at fourth singles was the winning margin.
Viktoriya Dzyuba leads Pacific with a 9-1 record and has won five consecutive decisions at first singles.
The George Washington men's tennis team enters at 5-6 on the season, while Sacramento State is 5-10.
The George Washington women are 3-6 this season.
