Ports’ Renato Nunez Named California League Player of the Week
The third baseman went 14-for-31 during the week
Ports’ third baseman, Renato Nunez, has been named the California League Player of the Week for June 23rd-29th.
During the week, Nunez put up .452/.500/1.065 with 5 homeruns, 4 doubles, and 9 RBI. Nunez is currently batting .282 on the year with 16 homeruns, with his 15th and 16th both taking place during yesterday’s game in Bakersfield.
The third baseman is ranked the Athletics’ sixth top prospect and will be representing the World Team at the Future’s game coming up on July 13th at Target Field in Minneapolis, MN.
Nunez is in his fourth season with the A’s organization and has previously been named an MiLB.com Organization All-Star and Midwest League Mid-Season All-Star in 2013, in addition to Arizona League Post-Season All-Star in 2012.
