The #ReinventStockton Summer Book Club is back! In collaboration with the Library’s Summer Reading Program, Councilman Michael Tubbs will host a weekly book club at the Maya Angelou Library for students entering the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. #ReinventStockton Summer Book Club will focus on the book In Times of Terror, Wage Beauty by Mark Gonzales. The book is a meticulously crafted series of ideas in tweet sized digestible prose. It serves as a personal guide to social change makers in the 21st century navigating complex social systems by highlighting advanced approaches to healing and global wellness.
Each meeting will give the students an opportunity to talk about the major themes in the book and participate in related activities. Meetings will be held on Wednesdays from 1:30-3 pm from June 24 through July 29, 2013. Registration is not required. Copies of the book will be available for checkout – with a library card -- at the Maya Angelou Library in the middle of June.
