"Shelter Me" Movie Premiere benefiting the City of Stockton Animal Shelter

The City of Stockton Animal Shelter in partnership with the Community Foundation of San Joaquin County and nationally recognized director and producer Steven Latham will be presenting the World Premiere movie of “Shelter Me: Soul Awakened” at the Bob Hope Theatre on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at 7:00 pm. This film will highlight the work of Paws for Life K9 Rescue and the Search Dog Foundation. All proceeds benefit the City of Stockton Animal Shelter.

"I am so excited to have the World Premiere of Shelter Me in Stockton," said Steven Latham, producer and codirector of 'Shelter Me: Soul Awakened.' "This film series tells uplifting stories and inspires people to support their local animal shelters. I'm very proud of the work Stockton Animal Services is doing and hope the community comes out to celebrate their love and commitment to the homeless pets in the area."

“This world premiere would not be possible without Steven Latham’s generosity, when he offered to release this premiere in Stockton at the 6th Annual Cool Cats & Barking Dogs Gala in May of 2019, which benefits the City of Stockton Animal Shelter,” said CEO, Moses Zapien of the Community Foundation of San Joaquin County. “The Community Foundation of San Joaquin County is proud to support the great work of the City of Stockton Animal Shelter, and congratulates them on this auspicious event.”

“Steven’s generosity to offer the release of this film in Stockton inspires me and our team of dedicated community members, volunteers, and employees who work tirelessly to improve the lives of the 11,000 animals that arrive at the City of Stockton Animal Shelter each year,” said City of Stockton Animal Services Manager Phillip Zimmerman.

"The City of Stockton has made our animal shelter a priority,” said Mayor Michael Tubbs. However, we cannot do this work alone. It's great to see that we have support from animal welfare advocates and community members both locally and afar. The ‘Shelter Me’ movie premiere reaffirms that Stockton is a place where we not only look out for one another, but we also care for our furry friends."

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, https://tinyurl.com/ticketmaster-shelterme or at the Stockton Arena Box Office. Premiere seating is $50.00 with a special gift and general admission is $20.00.
