SMG Brings A Flurry of Events to Stockton This Winter

Lighted boats on the Stockton Channel will not be the only twinkling sights in downtown this year. In 2013 Downtown Stockton Alliance decorated trees and lamp posts along Weber Avenue and in the Janet Leigh (Cinema) Plaza with strings of long lasting LED lights. Visitors and movie goers will be able to enjoy the festive decorations right next to the brightly lit dome of the Downtown Cineplex & IMAX.  Right across the street at Weber Point, a towering lit up Christmas tree has also become an annual tradition compliments of the Mayor. The tree will light up the park every night through the Season.

For over 30 years, Stockton has celebrated the beginning of Winter Holidays with a Delta Reflections lighted boat parade on Stockton Channel. This year on December 7, Marina West Yacht Club will treat the community to their 31st parade. Boats and yachts adorned with multitudes of twinkling lights and Christmas -themed decorations will take off from Buckley Cove at 5 pm and will arrive at Downtown Stockton Marina around 6 pm. The best place to watch the parade is at the Stockton Marina, along the Joan Darrah Promenade or from the waterfront lawn of Delta Lounge at University Plaza Waterfront Hotel. The parade is free and happens rain or shine. Afterwards, treat yourself to a cup of hot chocolate, or even a full dinner, at one of many waterfront restaurants.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the well known purple glow of the Stockton Arena will announce hockey games and special events at this 10,000 seat venue.
