With the Memorial Day weekend upon us, San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation officials would like to remind the public of the continuous closures of Stillman Magee Regional Park and Woodbridge Wilderness Area.
Since February, both regional parks have been temporarily closed due to flooding and safety concerns. While the Mokelumne River, which borders each park, is running at approximately 2,400 CFS (cubic feet per second), park officials have been advised that flows could increase due to recent storms and water releases through East Bay Municipal Utilities District. Along with EBMUD, the department works in partnership with Clements Fire Department, the California Department of Boating and Waterways and various county agencies to ensure the safety of San Joaquin County residents and guests.
At this time, it is not known when either park will reopen to the public. For updates on a possible reopen date, please visit the San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation website at www.sjparks.com or find them on FaceBook or Instagram.
Stillman Magee Regional Park is located at 23801 N. Mackville Rd., Clements. Woodbridge Wilderness Area is located at 301 E. River Meadows Dr., Woodbridge.
