Reception for Shiloh Gastello – Saturday, August 10 from 4-7 pm

Demo Artist Vanessa Hadady is a third generation classically trained painter who began practicing formalized painting in 1974.  She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico. There, among several scholars, she studied under Gene Frumkin (poet), Joel-Peter Witkin (photographer), and Thomas Barrow (photographer) while sitting in critiques by Julian Schnabel (filmmaker/artist) and the late Joan Brown (artist).

During years 2010 and 2012 she entered works into competitions and won sweeping regional class/division awards.

Her watercolor "California Valley" was scheduled into the KVIE Art Auction 2010 (Sacramento Public Television) with an on-air time that opened the three day event from September 24th thru 26th.

Her work “Brookside” quickly eclipsed other artist works, including internationally recognized artists, during the KVIE Art Auction 2011.  She released her first art book during July 2011, currently offers four art books and began e-commerce publication of her practice book, “Painting Fundamentals” during early 2013.  During 2010, one of the artist's quotes was included in "Art Studio Door Signs" by Jerry Saltz (T. Ward, ed.).  The artist paints annually from spring through fall.  Ongoing updates may be viewed at www.GalleryPreviewOnline.com.

Feature Artist of the Month, Shiloh Gastello received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a focus in Ceramics from the University of the Pacific where he studied with sculptor and ceramist Trent Burkett and served as a part-time Teacher's Assistant. Shiloh Gastello recently returned from a five-month assistantship at Terra Cottage, a ceramics production studio in Paducah, KY, focusing in Business Administration in the Arts and Production Ceramics. Gastello will be attending the one-year Post-Baccalaureate Program in Ceramics this fall at the Oregon College of Art and Craft in Portland, OR.

Shiloh Gastello is a member of the Stockton Art League in Stockton, CA; the Central California Art Association in Modesto, CA; the San Joaquin Potters Guild in Stockton, CA; and was the vice president of Studio 1091, the 3D Studio Art Club at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA from fall 2010 through fall 2011. Shiloh Gastello participated in the 2012 Artists Wanted: Art Takes Time Square International Billboard Premier Exhibition in New York, NY; and the 2011 National Visions in Clay Juried Exhibition at the L. H. Horton Jr. Gallery at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, CA.
