The Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has voted to appoint Timm Quinn as Interim CEO effective July 22, 2021. Timm will replace Doug Wilhoit who retired on July 21, 2021.
Timm Quinn has been with the Stockton Chamber of Commerce since August 25, 2005. Timm was originally hired as the Stockton Ag Expo Exhibitor Salesman and served in that role until the last Ag Show in January of 2008. After that Timm took on the role of Special Events Coordinator and upon his graduation from the Leadership Stockton Program in June of 2008 he was also named Leadership Stockton Program Director. In July of 2014 Timm was promoted to Special Events Director and has served in that capacity since.
“Timm has been such a valuable part of the Chamber for almost 16 years, and he really stepped up over the last year and half helping our business community during COVID.” Said Chris Kay 2020-22 Stockton Chamber President. “He is talented, knowledgeable about our City, and will do an excellent job leading the Chamber while the Board conducts a search for a permanent CEO.”
“Through my almost 15 plus years with the Stockton Chamber I have learned so much and I am excited to take on the challenge of leading the Stockton Chamber as we come out of this pandemic.” Quinn said. “I am grateful to the Board of Directors for this opportunity and know I have some big shoes to fill following Doug Wilhoit.”
Timm is a 4th generation Stocktonian with a long family a long history here. His Grandfather Thomas B. Quinn was San Joaquin County Superior Court Judge and Thomas’ father and brothers owned Quinn’s Stationary on Weber Ave. Timm’s Great Grandfather was B.C. Wallace, who opened Park View Cemetery, built Wallace Martin Funeral home, served as San Joaquin County coroner for 8 years and was one of the founders of the Goodwill of San Joaquin.
Timm has a Bachelors of Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Timm graduated from the Wester Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E.) Academy in February 2019. He is a Leadership Stockton Class of 2008 Graduate and currently serves on the Leadership Stockton Alumni Association Board of Directors and is currently the Co-Chair of the United Way of San Joaquin County’s Stockton Community Council. His wife Amanda is a Special Education Teacher for Lodi Unified School District and they have a 10 year old son named Braden.
