Dr Martin Luther King Jr Celebration
A two-day event that commemorates the life and vision of Martin Luther King, Jr.
The event supports the youth in educational endeavors through culture, history and knowledge.
Sunday, 1/15/2017: 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, featuring a Keynote speaker the Honorable Judge Lauren P. Thomasson.
Monday, 1/16/2017: 11:00 am until 4:00 pm: this day begins with a march at 10 am (Registration begins at 9 am) focuses on the youth. Mayor Michael Tubbs is the Guest Speaker for this event. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy: face painting nutritious food educational activities raffle prizes and awards youth expressions fashion showcase artist showcase (ages 3 to 19 years old ) come, draw and win prizes youth entertainment (Praise Dance, Hip Hop, Mime, Spoken Word)
