The Stockton Fire Department has added a new truck company at Station No. 7. Please join the Stockton Fire Department and City officials for a celebration and dedication on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., at Station No. 7, 1767 W. Hammer Lane, Stockton, 95207.
“The most common question we get from members of the community, ‘Is there a difference between a fire engine and a fire truck?’” said Chief Richard Edwards. “Think of the engine as the shorter, apparatus that shows up at every fire, and is ready to hook up to a fire hydrant and start pumping water. A fire truck is the longer apparatus with all the tools (hint: “T” for “truck” and “tools”). Trucks are sent out to fires that need more tools, such as the Jaws of Life. Trucks also carry ladders and ropes – the tools that we use to perform rescues.”
North Stockton has been without a truck at every station since 2010. Station No. 7 is now fully equipped with an engine and a truck and a staff of seven (7) firefighters around the clock. Dedication of the new truck is a celebration and recognition of those who serve our community.
Members of the community are welcome and encouraged to attend this celebration, meet the Station No. 7 firefighters, and take a tour of the station.
