Stockton Heat Announce Inaugural Schedule

The Stockton Heat, proudly owned by the NHL’s Calgary Flames, announce the team’s inaugural AHL schedule for the 2015-16 season. The team’s first-ever AHL game pits the Heat against the Chicago Blackhawks’ affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, on October 10 at Stockton Arena.

Part of the new Pacific Division, the Heat will play the California based teams, Bakersfield, Ontario, San Diego and San Jose a total of 12 times each, while taking on the “Lonestar State” teams, San Antonio and Texas, a total of six times each.

The Heat will face three teams outside of the Pacific Division including Rockford, Iowa and Manitoba.  Stockton has three separate occasions in which they will play four games at home, their longest homestand of the season.  The longest the Heat will be away from Stockton Arena is a five-game road trip in March.  In fact, the team’s busiest month of the season will be March when the Heat play 13 games.

Promotions that fans know and love will return during the Heat’s inaugural season. Hot Pink 1 presented by Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center kicks off on November 6 and carries through November 7.  The ice will be pink, players will sport pink jerseys and event proceeds will benefit St. Joseph’s Foundation – Breast Health Services.

We Paint the Ice Night also returns during the first-ever Saturday matinee game on January 2.  Fans can start collecting their stuffed animals for Teddy Bear Toss, which returns to Stockton Arena on January 23.  The environmentally-friendly Covanta Easy Being Green event will take place on April 9 and 10, and the final home game of the season on April 16 will be a chance for fans to thank all those who have served or who are currently serving our country during Military Appreciation Night.

Popular giveaways are also set to come back with three separate nights that children 12-years-old and younger will receive a Stockton Heat replica jersey (Nov. 21, Jan. 30 & Feb. 28).  Adults 18-years and older aren’t forgotten either, with a t-shirt giveaway on December 5 and a jersey giveaway of their own on March 12.

Other great giveaway items include additional bobblehead nights than in previous seasons, an equipment bag and a Heat lunchbox!
