Stockton Metropolitan Airport Announces New Daily Service to LAX with United Airlines

Today, the Stockton Metropolitan Airport announced new, twice daily service to LAX with United Airlines. SkyWest will provide Stockton travelers seamless access to United’s global network via the airline’s Los Angeles hub. The new service is set to begin August of 2019, with tickets on sale now.

“United is committed to connecting Californians to the world, and these new flights link Stockton residents to our global network in Los Angeles,” said Janet Lamkin, United California President. “As a native Stocktonian, I couldn’t be more excited to see United bring more economic development to the Central Valley, and to take Stocktonians wherever they want in the U.S. and the world through our hub in Los Angeles.”

“Due to our region’s growth in the last decade, dedicated daily service to a large hub international airport is truly welcome and will benefit literally thousands of travelers and businesses now residing in our region,” said Stockton Metropolitan Airport Director, Russell Stark. “Our hope and desire is this service will be the beginning of new service to other destinations in the near future.”

“Several high-tech firms now call San Joaquin Valley home,” said Tom Patti, Supervisor San Joaquin Valley. “These employers and their employees will benefit greatly from air service to one of United Airlines’ hubs, giving them global access right out of Stockton.”

This will be the first time since 2003 that the community has had daily service to a large hub, international airport. Each of the twice-daily flights from Stockton to Los Angeles will be timed to provide maximum connection opportunities for both business and leisure travelers. Customers will also have the opportunity to accrue frequent flyer miles in United’s MileagePlus loyalty program.

Annually, 5.5 million passengers within a 25 mile range of the airport travel over an hour’s drive to airports in the Bay Area or Sacramento. This new air service allows residents to fly local and helps to alleviate traffic congestion over the Altamont and I-5.

Customers may book flights immediately at united.com, on the United mobile app or by calling United Reservations at 800.UNITED.1 (800.864.8331)
