This weekend showcased a diverse lineup of entertainment choices in Stockton

With close to forty events scheduled in May between the Stockton Arena, Bob Hope Theatre, and Stockton Ballpark, the opening weekend of May saw a diverse lineup of events.

Friday, the Stockton Arena was able to showcase its versatility with two events. With the Stockton Thunder advancing into the Kelly Cup Western Conference Finals, their series with Idaho opened up with a big 3-1 Thunder win. To help support the team on the road, the Stockton Arena has been opening up the Kings Room and hosting Stockton Thunder Watch Parties, which have been growing in popularity as the team has advanced. At the same time, The Record Press Club hosted High School Nights, an 18 and under event geared towards the community’s youth.

Saturday night saw the return of comedian Ron White to the Bob Hope Theatre. As part of his national tour, “A Little Unprofessional,” Ron White had the audience rolling on topics ranging from marriage to the TSA.

Saturday night also saw the Ports continue their four game series with Visalia, and host their increasingly popular “May the Fourth Be With You” Star Wars tribute night. The Ports wore special jerseys for the occasion, and fans dressed the part.

On Sunday, the Kings Room once again played host to a Stockton Thunder Watch Party. With the largest Watch Party attendance to date, fans enjoyed the Thunder taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the series with a thrilling 4-3 OT win.
