The Pacific men's and women's basketball team will celebrate the start of the 2015 basketball season at the Alex G. Spanos Center as the homecoming weekend is headlined by the annual Tiger Rally: United We Roar event on Friday night.
Teaming up with ASUOP, the University of the Pacific once again combined its traditional basketball celebration event with homecoming on campus and the student life Lip Sync.
Both the men's and the women's teams will be introduced to start the event before athletic competitions commence interspersed between Lip Sync battles. Fans will be able to watch campus groups battle for supremacy during Lip Sync, a competition combining colorful storylines and messages through the use of pre-recorded speaking roles, blends of music, theatrical dance moves, and bold costumes. After Lip Sync, get ready to roar as we welcome the Tiger basketball teams for the first pep rally of the season.
On the athletic side, the Tiger Rally will feature a three-point shooting contest, a doughnut eating race, as well as the vaunted Tug-of-War with players and fans combining to make teams. The finale will feature the dunk contest as the men throw down to see who has bragging rights on the team for the rest of the year.
The Pacific men's and women's basketball teams open the exhibition season on November 7 at the Alex G. Spanos Center with a doubleheader. The women take on Sonoma State at 5:00 p.m., followed by the men facing Carroll College. at 7:30 p.m.
