The United Way of San Joaquin has partnered with local sponsors to host the Tru Hope Youth Summit on October 26, 2015 at the Stockton Arena. A free event providing opportunity for the youth of Stockton to hear messages from various speakers reinforcing positive life metaphors and encouraging them to achieve greatness, make healthy choices, and never lose hope.
This event is FREE to all high school students in San Joaquin County. All public high school, private high school, continuation high school, and homeschool students are welcome to register and attend. If you are a Community Based Organization (CBO), and work with high school students, you are invited too.
Stockton Unified School District high schools will have bus transportation available to and from the Stockton Arena, provided by district bus transportation. Stockton Regional Transit Authority (RTD) is also sponsoring the event, and offereing free rides to students on 10/26/15 who are going to the Stockton Arena.
The interactive health expo, sponsored by San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services, will be open to all students, along with the general public, from 1:45pm-6:00pm. Expo will have various community booths offering information and resources available to students and families throughout the county. Highlights include; The AT&T Distracted Driving Simulator, offering participants a one-of-a-kind, real-life experience when it comes to making poor choices behind the wheel. This is one of AT&T's most popular national prevention tools, and it will be here in Stockton! More info at www.truhopesummit.com
