Visionary Home Builders Awarded $1 Million Grant

Central Valley Community Bank assists organization with two affordable housing program funding awards

James M. Ford, President and CEO of Central Valley Community Bank (Bank), is pleased to announce Visionary Home Builders of California, Inc. (Visionary Home Builders), a Stockton nonprofit, is the recipient of two Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco (FHLBank San Francisco) Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grants, totaling $1,080,000. These grants are a result of the Bank’s submission of grant applications on their behalf.

Visionary Home Builders is a housing developer active throughout California’s San Joaquin Valley. Their mission is to create and advocate for healthy, vibrant, safe communities and educational opportunities for families, seniors and individuals of low and moderate income. The funding will be used for construction of their Liberty Square project in Stockton that will provide 74 housing units for low-income families and special needs individuals. The new complex will be equipped with community socialization areas, playgrounds, daycare operations, and includes features to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

“We are thrilled that FHLBank San Francisco selected this deserving organization as the recipient of their Affordable Housing Program grant. Visionary Home Builders is making a positive impact on the status of healthy homes in our region, which is why we chose to nominate them for this award,” said James M. Ford, President and CEO of Central Valley Community Bancorp and Central Valley Community Bank.

“Visionary Home Builders is proud to provide our community with a beautiful, repurposed property - Liberty Square - in the heart of Stockton,” states Carol Ornelas, CEO, Visionary Home Builders of California, Inc. “Because of this generous grant, Liberty Square will give much needed housing to many families and individuals. This grant will allow us to broaden our vision as we serve our community, especially during this time when affordable housing is greatly needed.”

“The AHP enables bank members to support local projects that target pressing housing needs in their communities. Central Valley Community Bank is an active user of our grant programs and annually supports valued partner organizations like Visionary Home Builders. We are pleased that our AHP can provide funds for Liberty Square and add to the supply of healthy homes for lower-income families in the Central Valley,” said Marietta Núñez, Senior Vice President and Community Investment Officer at FHLBank San Francisco.
