"Visions In Clay" at Delta College's LH Horton Jr Gallery

The Visions In Clay exhibition is the first of three shows for the Gallery’s Fall Season.

Delta Center for the Arts LH Horton Jr Gallery presents the 6th Annual Visions In Clay Exhibition and awards competition, August 26 – September 23.  All events are free and open to the public.

This exhibit features 72 ceramic works by 51 artists from around the country, including two from Stockton, Joel Blum and Ilona Finocchi. The exhibition includes functional/decorative and sculptural works, and is dedicated to unique form, surface and texture qualities.

Stamp, $650 2nd Place for “Naked Lunch”, and Yoko Sekino-Bové, for $350 3rd Place for “Unsolved Mystery Sauce Boat”. The exhibition Best of Show award and installation materials is generously funded by the Stockton Arts Commission through an Arts Endowment Grant.

The juror for the exhibition is Arthur Gonzalez, Professor at the California College of the Arts (formerly CCAC). Professor Gonzalez holds an MFA from the University of California at Davis, where he studied under Robert Arneson and Manuel Neri.

The LH Horton Jr Gallery is a non-profit organization and a premier exhibition space in the city of Stockton. The primary mission of the Gallery is to promote the exhibition of quality and culturally diverse artwork in support of our students’ education and the community at large. The Gallery offers excellent exhibition opportunities to local, regional, and national artists, lenders and guest curators. The Gallery presents artists’ work in all media, with no thematic or geographic restrictions. The Student Exhibition is held at the end of Spring Semester.

The LH Horton Gallery is located on the campus of San Joaquin Delta College, on the ground floor of Shima Center, and is wheelchair accessible. Admission is free and open to the public. Recommended parking is available in the Shima lot for a nominal fee of $1.
