Weber Point fountain - the City's popular interactive water feature at the Weber Point Events Center - will reopen for the 2021 season beginning Saturday, May 29, 2021. Completely rebuilt and completed in 2020, the fountain features new spray patterns. The fountain will operate following state guidance for water parks under the State of California Blueprint for a Safer Economy; San Joaquin County is currently in the Red Tier 2. Fountain hours are 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. daily and will require small groups using the fountain for shorter intervals of play. Parking in the adjacent parking lot, where Miner Ave. meets Center St., is limited to two hours per vehicle.
Interactive Fountain Use
The fountain will operate for twenty minutes, on the hour and half-hour, with 10-minute breaks to allow each group to exit and the next group to enter. The new design also includes state-of-the-art methods of cleaning the water and will automatically shut off to complete a sensor-detected cleansing cycle, which will vary based on the use. New outdoor shower facilities have been installed and all users are required to rinse before entering the fountain. Restrooms are available for those visiting Weber Point to enjoy the fountain.
Rules and Requirements
For enjoyment by everyone, all users are required to follow the posted rules and capacity limitations. State Guidance currently requires maintaining physical distance of six feet from non-household members and face coverings for unvaccinated persons; face coverings are not to be worn while in the fountain or shower. Security will be on site to help maintain compliance with current protocols.
Please bring something to sit on and food and drinks in non-breakable (plastic) containers, as there may be a waiting period. No bare feet are allowed in or near the fountain, and all children under the age of 7 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Alcohol and drugs are not allowed. Weber Point Fountain is not a pet-friendly environment.
