Women’s Center – Youth & Family Services Elects 2014 Board Officers

Teresa Mandella, retired Ameriprise Financial Advisor, takes the helm as Board President. Lita Wallach, President of Wallach and Associates, will assume the role of Vice President; Dave Sant with the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office will continue to serve as Board Treasurer; and Judy Lovett (Law Office of Judy A. Lovett) will continue to serve as Board Secretary. Wayne Hose, former Stockton Police Chief, steps down after providing leadership as Board President in 2013. Hose will remain on the Board of Directors as Immediate Past President.
 
Women’s Center-YFS is San Joaquin County’s only provider of shelter and services specifically designed to meet the needs of homeless and runaway youth and victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
 
The mission of Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services is to build a stronger community by fostering the strengths in individuals and by acting as a catalyst
to end violence and youth homelessness.
 
Women's Center-YFS serves more than 21,000 individuals annually through its direct services and community outreach, including more than 750 women, children and youth who stay in its shelters each year. The agency has a budget of $4.2 million, and a staff of 75 providing services at 11 sites throughout San Joaquin County.
 
Women’s Center-YFS’ goals are to increase awareness and provide safety, support and hope to its clients, while working to end domestic violence, sexual assault and youth homelessness in the community.
