Women's Center-Youth & Family Services Host Christmas in July Drive

Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services is hosting its second annual Christmas in July drive to collect urgently needed items for clients, including homeless runaway youth, victims of sexual assault, and battered women and their children. Many of the agency’s clients are struggling to rebuild their lives after fleeing dangerous situations, often with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Donations will help these clients start a new life.

The wish list includes items such as new pots and pans, silverware, small kitchen appliances, towels, hygiene products, and school supplies for all ages. An Amazon Wish List has been created and can be found at http://goo.gl/5HXaMm. The agency also appreciates monetary donations and gift cards from those who are unable to donate items. Women’s Center-YFS is looking to build from the success of last year’s drive-with the generosity and support of the community, this can be another successful year.

Donations are accepted Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm at Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services’ main office located at 620 N. San Joaquin Street in Stockton. If you have a large quantity of items to donate or any additional questions, please call (209) 941-2611. These donations will help make a positive impact on the lives of the runaway homeless youth and victims of domestic violence and sexual assault we serve.

Women’s Center-YFS is San Joaquin County’s only provider of free, confidential shelter and services specifically designed to meet the needs of homeless runaway youth and victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Each year the agency serves more than 21,000 individuals through its direct services and community outreach, including more than 700 women, children and youth who stay in its shelters.

The mission of Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services is to build a stronger community by fostering the strengths in individuals and by acting as a catalyst to end violence and youth homelessness.
