Snap Jackson & The Knock on Wood Players Thursday, January 15, 2015
This outstanding acoustic quartet effortlessly blends Americana, bluegrass, soul and old time music to create a fresh and energetic sound. Featured on the same bill as Alison Krauss, Old Crow Medicine Show, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Vince Gill and many others this crew will heat up the winter night in its second appearance at the Haggin.

 

LIVE MUSIC: Clarinet Quintet Thursday, February 5, 2015
Featuring sounds from Coltrane to Paganini, the Pacific Avenue Clarinets play original works and transcriptions for clarinet. Working together they create a unique “sound picture” for every piece. The group, formed in 2013 by University of the Pacific Professor of Clarinet Patricia Shands, features alumni and current student musicians Jerry Criswell, Jeff Kumagai, Amanda Martin, Christina Severin, and Chris Steffanic.

 

LIVE MUSIC: Wendi Maxwell & the Trés Hot Jazz Band Thursday, February 19, 2015
Haggin favorites Wendi Maxwell and Trés Hot Jazz bring the group’s signature “swinging bluesy jazz” to new material and audience favorites. Wendi and the band are riding the crest of a banner year with their second nomination for a Modesto Area Music Award. Maxwell’s (vocalist and band leader) line-up includes Randy McMillan (vibraphones), Rick Russell (saxophones), Ken Cefalo (guitar), Brian Clark (bass), and Dax Compise (drums). The group’s two full length CDs are available in the Haggin Museum

GLASS ARTIST: Mira Woodworth Thursday, March 5, 2015
Self-taught glass artist Mira Woodworth left a 20-year career as a trial paralegal in 2014 to pursue an art career full time. Woodworth will talk about what led her to pursue art, the progression of her work and the transition from being a paralegal to becoming a full-time artist. Woodworth has been selected as the 2015 McKee Student Art Contest & Exhibition judge.
