54 Hour Weekend Closure Connector Ramp
NORTHBOUND INTERSTATE 5 TO EASTBOUND STATE ROUTE 4 CONNECTOR RAMP IN STOCKTON
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the connector ramp from northbound Interstate 5 (I-5) to eastbound State Route 4/Crosstown Freeway for highway construction.
Work will begin Friday, September 19, 2014, at 11:00 p.m., and continue until Monday, September 21, 2014, at 5:00 a.m.
A signed detour is available and motorists should expect 10 minute delays. No two ramps are scheduled to close at the same time. The westbound connector ramp will remain open during the closure weekend. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.
The 54-hour weekend closure is part of the I-5 Rehabilitation Project, which is reconstructing the existing eight lanes of highway from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard/Charter Way to Country Club Boulevard in Stockton. The $54 million project, which began in May 2013 and is expected to be completed in 2016, will widen the inside shoulders; rebuild the outside shoulders and auxiliary lanes; and replace existing guard rail with a concrete median barrier.
This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
For the safety of workers and other motorists, please Slow for the Cone Zone.
