There are moments in a child’s life when the world opens—just enough to let imagination rush in like light slipping through a long-sealed window. This Thursday evening, students from the Stockton Unified School District will experience one of those rare, transformative openings as they step into the Bob Hope Theatre for an exclusive dress rehearsal of The Nutcracker, made possible by the Adventist Health Arena Community Fund in partnership with SUSD.
On Monday, November 3, members of the Stockton City Council rolled up their sleeves alongside local elected officials to volunteer at the Emergency Food Bank on Scotts Avenue. From 11 a.m. to noon, city leaders helped sort, pack, and distribute food to families in need — a visible show of solidarity during a time of financial strain for many households affected by delays in federal CalFresh and EBT benefits.
Long gone are the fire trucks and hoses used to extinguish the TCU September Lightning Complex fire. The work, however, is far from over in keeping Tuolumne County communities safe from hazards. Yellow fire hoses have now been replaced by green tubes installed by the California Conservation Corps.
